Fractal Lens Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2, 2026

Overview

Fractal Lens is an iOS and iPadOS app that estimates the fractal dimension of images you photograph or pick from your library. It does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

Data collection

Fractal Lens collects no data. The app makes no network connections, so nothing you do in it is ever transmitted off your device. In App Store privacy terms, this is a Data Not Collected app.

Camera and photos

The app asks for camera access only so you can snap a photo to analyze, and photo library access only to read the photos you choose. Analysis happens entirely on your device, and images are never uploaded anywhere. You can decline either permission and still use the other, and both can be changed anytime in Settings.

Storage

Analyses you choose to save, including the image, its results, and a thumbnail, are stored only on your device in the app's private storage. Deleting an analysis in the app, or deleting the app itself, removes this data. Like other app data, it may be included in your own device backups, such as iCloud or your computer, which are covered by Apple's privacy policy rather than this one.

Third parties

Fractal Lens uses no third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks. No data is shared with anyone because no data ever leaves your device.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated here before that version is released.
